Preparing
for
Emergencies
Resilient Futures Workshop II: Preparing for Emergencies helps families understand their flood zones and create a personalized emergency plan they can actually use. This ASD-inclusive workshop features interactive learning stations where families practice real-world skills, including go-bag demonstrations, hands-on drills for safely putting on life vests, and building hurricane-resistant model homes through guided engineering activities. Designed with autistic children and their caregivers in mind, the workshop uses visual supports, movement-based learning, and step-by-step guidance to reduce overwhelm and increase confidence. Families leave with a clearer understanding of their risk, a stronger emergency plan, and practical experience preparing together.
