She serves as an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Virginia Peninsula Community College and as a Supervisory Health Physicist at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Maryse combines her environmental science expertise with strong leadership experience to drive the mission and impact of EmpowerED Autism.

Alexis Alexander is the Program Director at EmpowerED Autism, holding a B.S. in Cybersecurity and proudly serving as a U.S. Army veteran. With a passion for aviation, he currently teaches as a Dual Enrollment Aviation Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Instructor at Norfolk Technical Center and the Aviation Institute of Maintenance. Alexis brings a diverse skill set in both cybersecurity and aviation, along with valuable leadership experience, to guide EmpowerED Autism's programs and initiatives.

Shalise Lopez is the Director of National Outreach and Community Engagement, bringing a deep committment to advocating for individuals and families impacted by autism, with a focus on inclusion, equity, and access to resources. Her work centers on building meaningful partnerships, expanding community awareness, and creating spaces where neurodiverse individuals are empowered to thrive. With lived experience as a mother of a child on the autism spectrum, she brings both personal insight and professional dedication to her role. She understands firsthand the challenges families face navigating education systems, services, and societal barriers, which fuels her passion for outreach that is compassionate, culturally responsive, and impactful. Throughout her work, she has been especially focused on reaching underserved and marginalized communities, ensuring that support and information are accessible to all families, regardless of background. She believes that true advocacy requires listening, representation, and action, and she strives to amplify voices that are often unheard. In addition to her advocacy work, she is the mother of eight and a strong believer in resilience, community, and the power of lived experience to drive change. Her leadership reflects a commitment to breaking down stigma, promoting understanding, and building a more inclusive future for individuals with autism.

She is a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) with a strong passion for supporting individuals with autism. Drawing on her expertise in behavioral interventions, Amber contributes significantly to workshop planning, playing a key role in advancing EmpowerED Autism's mission and amplifying the organization impact.
