Resilient Futures Workshop III: Community Protection & Flood Kit Preparedness introduces families to how the City of Norfolk is working to protect residents through major resilience efforts, including the Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Project and other local flood mitigation initiatives. Participants learn how large-scale infrastructure and community planning reduce flood risk, presented in a clear and accessible way for autistic children and their caregivers. The workshop also focuses on flood kit essentials, guiding families through what to pack, why each item matters, and how to tailor kits to meet sensory, medical, and communication needs. By combining local knowledge with practical preparation, families leave better informed, equipped, and empowered to respond to flooding with confidence
